    “Pessima scelta il nome Brazilian Girls…non solo perchè mettendoli in ricerca su Google si ottengono perlopiù immagini di prosperose tettone sudamericane, ma anche in considerazione del fatto che sono di New York e, a parte la vocalist Sabina Sciubba (di origini romane), in realtà sono tutti uomini. Escludendo questi particolari il quartetto è divertente e nel nuovo album “Talk to La Bomb” propone un gradevole mix di contaminazioni tra rock, elettronica, dub e world music. Da tenere d’occhio in attesa di una conferma “live” nel bel paese.” The Rocksuckers

  • Boia chi Liga!

    Liga e il pubblico
    Non ho seguito il Festivalbar, l’ho visto solo per qualche minuto l’altra sera, quando c’era la finalissima e stavano per premiare Ligabue, giusto il tempo di vedere, sugli spalti dell’arena di Verona, uno striscione che in alto aveva una classica scritta di lode e sotto, in piccolo ma perfettamente leggibile, “boia chi molla”. Ora, è pur vero che gli imbecilli sono equamente distribuiti ovunque, ma trovo sorprendente che ci siano dei fascisti tra gli amanti della musica del Liga. E non gente genericamente “di destra”, ma tipi in grado di produrre uno striscione con una scritta dichiaratamente fascista, non equivocabile, messa li apposta perchè qualcuno, anzi molti, la vedessero. Segno dei tempi, ovviamente, in cui tutto si fonde e i confini tra “noi” e “loro” sono sempre più labili? No, non credo, le differenze sono evidenti, le distanze incolmabili. Eppure la musica del Liga, come quella di Vasco, persino quella di De Gregori, tanto per citare alcuni dei più noti, può piacere a chi pensa di essere, in pieno 2006, addirittura fascista. Non dovrebbe essere così. In linea di massima no, se è possibile intendere i testi dei sunnominati mi sembra difficile che un fascista possa apprezzare Liga, Vasco o De Gregori. Ma la musica, si sa, la si ascolta in molti modi diversi, direte voi, e anche un fascista può apprezzare l’arte. Si, è possibile, avete ragione. Ma da qui a scrivere “Boia chi molla” ce ne passa. E questo, davvero, non me lo spiego.

  • Drink to Me!!!


    Ho scoperto che uno dei miei compagni di squadra nell’Ivrea Rugby, il buon Marco Bianchi, suona nel gruppo Drink to Me che suonano un bastardo indie rock / shoegazing, che mi ricorda molto gli Slint e gruppi come i Lilys, Black Mountain, Pink Mountaintops… molto bravi!
    Ascoltando gli mp3i sul loro sito e sullo spazio di Myspace.com mi sono accorto che alcuni avevano i tag id3 mancanti, una cosa terribile per un’utente di Last.fm come me! Ho raccolt dunque i loro mp3, spero non gli dispiaccia, ho controllato i tags, e ho messo gli mp3 qui.

  • Pearl Jam a Torino!


    Martedì 19 settembre 2006 si esibiranno i Pearl Jam a Torino, in una delle strutture create per le Olimpiadi Invernali di Torino, e pensavo di andarci assieme alla mia fidanzata.
    Sul sito di TicketOne.it, che vende praticamente i biglietti per tutto, ho dato un’occhiata (ccia!) ai prezzi dei biglietti:

    E subito ho sentito una voce autoritaria di un Grande Capo Indiano che diceva… “Estiqaatsi… pensa che e’ brutta cosa che concerto costi due occhi della testa, Estiqaatsi ha detto!”
    Due persone fanno 80 Euri, 160 mila lire! un furto!!! Viva la pirateria!

    Credo sia una scelta un po’ troppo difficile, fanno generi diametralmente opposti.
    Kruder & Dorfmeister pionieri del trip-hop piu’ raffinato e colto, i Tool con un rock aggressivo e cerebrale.
    Se volete ascoltare qualche pezzo, potete ascoltarli in streaming su last.fm, K&D e Tool.

  • Franz Ferdinad live @ Traffic


    Lo scorso venerdi’ ho avuto il sommo piacere di assistere ad un concerto gratuito dei Franz Ferdinad, offerto dal comune di Torino nell’ambito della rassegna Traffic.
    Un concerto davvero bellissimo, dove gli artisti sul palco hanno dimostrato di essere davvero bravi, e di divertirsi un sacco nel suonare, ed il pubblico ha dimostrato di apprezzare la loro musica e di divertirsi due sacchi!!
    Un momento epico quando il chitarrista Nicholas McCarthy ha intonato “Bella Ciao” e subito dietro tutto il pubblico a cantare!
    Complimenti ai Franz Ferdinand e complimenti al Comune di Torino che ha finanziato un concerto gratuito cosi’ gremito di persone di tutte le eta’ e culture!
